Strawberry Garden Centre is owned and managed by husband and wife team, Russell & Sarah Heath who purchased the property from Russell’s parents in 2004.  

The property was purchased by Russell’s parents in the early 1980’s and was at that time known as the Strawberry Farm which was entirely a pick-your-own fruit farm, hence the name Strawberry Garden Centre as it is known today.  Russell and his family continued to operate the business as a fruit farm until the mid 1990’s when supermarkets started to sell fruit cheaper than what it could be grown for. The land by this time had become stale after many years of producing fruit crops and so the fruit enterprise was gradually phased out.

Russell had gained Horticultural qualifications after leaving school and thus started a nursery enterprise after the family moved to the site, which gradually expanded as the pick-your-own enterprise decreased.  The Tea-Room was added in the late 1980’s.

Russell’s wife, Sarah joined the business in 1995 to manage the Tea-Room and office side of the enterprise and between them they have built up the business to how it exists today.  Both are very “hands on” in the business and are committed to providing the very best in customer care and attention.
